SQUISHFACE
Privacy.
The short version
Squishface works entirely on your phone. Your camera, your voice, and the photos and videos you make never leave it unless you share them yourself. There are no accounts, ads, or in-app purchases, and the app doesn’t track you across other apps or websites.
Camera
The camera feeds the effects. Finding faces, hands, and people in the picture all happens on the device. Camera images are never uploaded.
Microphone
The microphone records sound for your videos, and the Sound effects react to how loud you are and the pitch of your voice. Audio is processed on the device and is never uploaded.
Your photos and videos
What you capture is kept inside the app, in the Goofy Reel. It only goes somewhere else when you tap Share or Save. Deleting the app deletes the Reel.
Photo library
On iPhone, the app asks for add-only access so Save can put a photo or video in your library. If you pick a photo or video to use as the source, the app only sees the one you picked.
Android: Google’s on-device libraries
The Android version uses Google’s ML Kit and MediaPipe libraries to find faces, hands, and people. They run on the device. ML Kit sends Google basic diagnostic information, such as the device model, app version, which feature ran, and how long it took, so Google can keep the library working. It doesn’t include images, audio, names, contact details, or location. Google handles it under the Google Privacy Policy. The iPhone version uses only Apple’s built-in frameworks and sends nothing.
Nothing else
The app has no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting tools of its own.
Children
Squishface is made for all ages, and it doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children. There’s nothing stored on any server to review or delete.
App stores
Apple and Google may collect information when you download or update the app, under their own privacy policies.
